Winners of our North East Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Awards have said that the recognition they have received has given them confidence and spurred them on to enter other competitions and awards.
2008
Stefania Williams of Williams Language Solutions won the category of 'Digital Users - Best Online Learning' at the NE Digital Awards on 15th May.
2007
Susan French and Christine Taylor of Contact Field Marketing & Promotions have won two more awards at the 2007 North Tyneside Small Business Awards - the North Tyneside Small Business Award for Services and the Overall Award.
2006
Pauline Nichol of internet company Bridal Veils, received the Highly Commended Award at the Age Positive 2006 Awards at a ceremony in Lonon on 10th May. Pauline, 74, was runner-up in the North East of England, in the Individual Category.
Judith Mathias of Home Scents in Hexham took the runner-up award for 'Investing in the Environment' at the EVE (a Northumberland Business Link initiative) Summer Event Invest Conference and Awards Dinner of 6th June. Lisa Aynsley of AM Associates (Best Newcomer runner up at the North East Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Awards 2005) won the 'Overcoming Difficulties' Award.
2005
Susan French and Christine Taylor of Contact Field Marketing & Promotions won the "Best Service Business" award at the South Tyneside Business Awards in November 2005. (Also 'Best Newcomers' at the North East Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Awards in 2004).
2004
Doreen Forsyth of New Barns Farm Shop & Restaurant, scooped BBC Good Food Magazine Small Producer of the Year title. (Also winner of the Rural Woman Entrepreneur Award at the North East Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Awards in 2004).
WIN Member, Judith Healey, MD of Talk Marketing Ltd won the Best Creative Product category at the Women In Business Awards 2004 for her range of "Simply Dorrie" handbags.
WIN Member, Val Milnes was Highly Commended as Best Business Leader (1-25 employees category) at the Sage Business Awards. Val is General Manager of the Tyne & Wear Business Link Organisation (TWEBLO).
Sadie Ayton (Sadie the Bra Lady) and Mandy Scott (AA Flags & Winner of the North East Woman Entrepreneur of the Year 2003) were both national finalists at the Women Mean Business Awards, sponsored by the Sunday Express and T-Mobile.
